Pax is the
public relations dog for the Prison Dog Project of Pathways To Hope.
He is also a trained assistance dog to help his growing old friend, Sr.
Pauline
He has visited many prisons, gave demonstrations and has given a lot of people joy by his friendliness, and especially his happy go lucky attitude. He loves everyone, even cats. He loves being a peacemaker, greeting everyone the same. He knows no enemies. |

|
| Pax has earned
his Tracking Dog title from the American Kennel Club as well as he is a
trained assistance dog.
He also has been trained by his companion Sr Pauline as well as he spent time in prison and was trained by an inmate. He lived in the inmates room, even having bed privileges... meaning he could sleep on the bed. He enjoyed playing with the other dogs who were being trained at the prison. He lives in a remote area of Maine with Sr Pauline. |

While visiting a prison, one of the correctional officers got on the floor with Pax, but his focus was on the table full of food right in front of him. |
Pax goes into prisons to visit the inmates, trying to bring about a sense of hope that there is a better life if they try and make it happen. |
Pax seen on the left corner of the picture went to New York to march for life in January 2004. He was pictured with the Maine Right to Life group. I have never been so proud of Pax, walking in the middle of around 250,000 people, going up the middle of the street toward the capitol and then to the supreme court justice building to make a statement that all life is precious from the beginning of conception to the end when we die. |

Pit Bulls have a terrible reputation but there are some that are gentle. These two Pit Bulls are sharing their small bed with Pax and they all fell asleep. It is a small sign of being peacemakers. |

This is the farm house of the Community of the Resurrection where Pax and I live in Maine with other sisters. Pax is happy being here or walking the streets of NY greeting the poor. |
Be A Responsible Pet Owner
In my travels around the world, I have seen thousands of neglected and abandoned dogs, cats and other animals. We need to be responsible providers to animals who look up to us for their care and safety. All of us who have animals as companions need to take ownership of our responsibility to care for an animal that was created by God. No human being should ever have to experience neglect and being unwanted in this world and the same should apply to animals so they do not have to live terrible lives. Dog shows can be a fun, healthy, and a family recreation but breeders need to be concerned with over breeding and abandoning animals who don't win in the dog shows, which happens. Competition to "win" sometimes becomes more important than treating people with respect and dignity. A person can really a "winner" when they sincerely congratulate a person who just won the best of breed over your dog. If winning at any cost takes control over your life, then it can lead to destruction of values. Training
